The Northern Ireland Union of Supported Employment (NIUSE) is delighted to announce that we will be delivering the Foundation Diploma in Training and Education in Supported Employment (FDSE) during March & April 2010. The training will be delivered in conjunction with the Open Training College (OTC), Dublin and will be accredited by the National University of Ireland (NUI), Galway.  

This training is suitable for Employment Officers/Facilitators working in the field of vocational training and employment for people with disabilities and those currently employed in facilitating people with support needs to find and keep employment. The FDSE training aims to provide Supported Employment Practitioners with professional education and training in the principles and practices of Supported Employment. 

The course will commence in March 2010 and the 2 two-day workshops will be held in UNISON, Galway House, 165 York Street, Belfast BT15 1AL Tel: 028 90 270190 

·         Workshop 1:              18 & 19 March 2010

·         Workshop 2:              22 & 23 April 2010

The Northern Ireland Union of Supported Employment (NIUSE) is an umbrella organisation representing individuals and organisations providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities through the Supported Employment model.

Supported Employment assists people with disabilities to access and stay in employment through providing appropriate individualised support and become economically and socially active in their local community.

NIUSE is a pan-disability organisation with a Northern Ireland wide remit, promoting and developing Supported Employment. The Northern Ireland Union of Supported Employment is a membership organisation and is open to individuals and organisations.
